West Headingley
The area lies west of Headingley Centre, on either side of Kirkstall Lane, comprising the Turnways triangle and the Ash Road area, between the Stadium and the Station. See the downloadable map on the Home page.
For an outline description of the area, go to Turnways Triangle and Ash Road Area; there are a couple of Listed Buildings in the latter. West Headingley is a residential neighbourhood, with Doctors, Dentists and a Chemist, adjacent to the shops in Headingley Town Centre (go to Shopping Centres). The local park is Beckett Park, the Ash Road Area is enlivened by painted Virgin Boxes, and the neighbourhood is dominated by the Stadium. Local Buses (19, 56) go to town, as do trains from the Station, as well as out to Harrogate, Knaresborough and York.
