The SEND Academy has been born out of a love for helping children with SEND to be able to participate and express themselves through movement and Dance in a fun, inclusive environment.
After having a daughter with Smith Magenis Syndrome, I wanted to create classes where dance is accessible for children with additional needs, creating a fun and happy place for them to come and be themselves.
Our mission is to build a SEND Dance school to create positive experiences for everyone, as well as helping to maintain a healthy lifestyle for children with additional needs.
Makaton is used in classes where children will find this useful.
Weekly classes are coming in September 2024 for children with SEND, ages 6-16, at HEART Centre. Book onto our Taster Session, 12.30-13.00, on Saturday, 10 August 2024.
