HEADINGLEY HERITAGE OPEN DAYS 2024

Hyde Park Picture House, 1914, reopened, 2023

Every year in September, around the country, volunteers organise events to celebrate our history and culture, providing a chance to see hidden places, all of which are free to explore. Heritage Open Days is an idea the UK inherited from Europe – and it’s one that remains! This year is its 30th anniversary, taking place 6-15 September. Of course, there’s plenty of heritage on view in and around Headingley, all the year round. And much of this heritage is explored on the HeadingleyLeeds website. There’s more information in the galleries for Historic Headingley and for Parks in the Past as well as Historic Places and Places Today, including the Stadium, the Zoo, the Headingley Campus, the Lodges, as well as historic travel, through ginnels and by omnibus and train. The Walks page suggests some interesting historic rambles in and around Headingley.
