The Village Hotel Leeds North is a refreshing change. Coming from a corporate hotel background, I can honestly say that the Hotel has been a refreshing change for me! The unique vibe here is so different—relaxed (which is evident in the friendly interactions between staff and guests), with just the right mix of fun and hard work, along with being community focused.
I’ve worked for a lot of Hotel chains from Hiltons to Marriotts, in a lot of different roles, but this is my first time with Village Hotels and so far it's been a great experience.
I currently live near Leicester so I am commuting up to Leeds three days a week, which is a two to two-and-a-half-hour drive. However, I am looking to relocate thankfully! I’m looking forward to being part of the community in Yorkshire, everyone is always so friendly and Leeds has always held a place in my heart. I lived in Bradford for four years almost 20 years ago so it has been like coming home. I am looking to move to the Headingley area as it’s always been one of my favourite places in Leeds. Being in Leeds will also mean I'm closer to my daughter at Teeside University - which I’m sure she hates the idea of!
What really sets The Village apart is the sense of community. We truly feel like a part of Headingley. We enjoy looking after our local residents and would love to see more of the community coming in, including individuals and groups of all kinds! Whether its for a coffee at Starbucks with friends or grabbing a Spuddies lunch after a workout. It’s those moments that make our work feel even more meaningful. We should also soon have the multi-player darts in the Pub & Grill which I hope the community will come and partake in!
