Leeds Beckett University in Headingley

Leeds Beckett University is a major part of the Headingley landscape and our commitment to the Leeds community is as strong as ever. Our 100 acre site is open to the public and blends into the surrounding parks and open spaces.

In 1912, Leeds City Council's belief in the power of education to transform people's lives led it to establish the original Leeds College of Education on the Headingley site. It is this belief that lies at the heart of everything we do today.

As one of the largest employers in the city, contributing around £500 million to the local economy, we have huge global reach and strong local impact. As a modern, professional and ambitious university, we employ 2,900 staff and our 28,000 students are drawn from more than 140 countries. This enables us to make a big contribution to the vibrancy and health of our growing and diverse local economy.

Our University has firm roots in Headingley so becoming a 'Friend' in Headingley is a natural development for us. We are delighted to support Headingley and celebrate our relationship with the local community. Together we will work together and make a real difference to our historic and beautiful area.
