Headingley Pre-School has played an important role in the Headingley community for over 37 years. We were established as a charity named St Michael's Play Group in June 1981. Based at Headingley Parish Hall, we ran a welcoming and fun way for young children to socialise, gain independence and learn through play for over twenty years.
In 2007 we relocated to the newly formed Shire Oak Primary School site on leafy Wood Lane. We changed our name to Headingley Pre-School and in 2017 we expanded onto two sites in Headingley, with a second one located on Burton Crescent.
We provide a rich, welcoming and stimulating environment which, along with our collaborative approach to learning, allows us to celebrate the uniqueness of all our children. We are very proud that our child-centred approach has been recognised by OFSTED who rated us as “outstanding” in 2017.
We feed most of the local primary schools and have places available for children from 2-5 years old. We welcome families from all social and cultural backgrounds and ensure our children make new friends and embark on a rewarding learning journey.
If you would like to arrange to visit us, please don’t hesitate to call (contact details below).
Also, if you remember being part of our group over the years we would love to hear from you!
